A well-spent 45 minutes

People (including me) sometimes imagine that business travel is so glamorous. That in between meetings you really get to know the places you visit, sampling the sights, the cuisine and the atmosphere.

Yeah. Right.

In fact, I often can cruise in and out of a city and barely catch a glimpse of the skyline from the cab or the plane. But sometimes, like in New Orleans and on a recent trip to Pensacola, I manage to squeeze in a little local flavor.

In Pensacola, I was driving around different locations around the city for business and was about to head back to my hotel to get caught up on some work when I thought — there’s no way I can come all the way to Florida and not at least SEE the beach.

So I ducked into a little state park and took a quick, steamy 45 minute walk. The sun was right overhead, making the photography challenging (not to mention frying this Yankee’s brain) but, thanks to my friend Instagram, we managed just fine. Here are some highlights:
