Last weekend, as I wandered through Colorado, I stopped on a whim at a public park in Longmont. Part of the park is an enormous rose garden, dedicated to the veterans who have served our country.
It was mid-day, which meant the bright sun was not in optimal position for taking pictures. It was hot and I was out of water. The battery on my phone (which I used for the pictures) was nearly dead. And I needed to get to the airport.
Really, I had no business taking pictures.
I took them anyway.
These are all un-retouched. While some of the images could be better (bright sun + iPhone lens = blur), I want to remember the reality. The stunning colors and intoxicating scents.
Lesson for the day: do it anyway.
