Stirred Up

Today was one of those glorious autumn days almost painful in its beauty. The sun was warm and golden, but the brisk wind hinted at the bitterness of the winter to come.
I was lucky enough to be downtown and when I saw how gorgeous Lake Michigan looked today, I had to take a minute to gawk. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to head up to the bluff to try to capture how multi-colored the water was: azure blue, teal, taupe and dark brown, sprinkled with white waves. But these pictures from the beach didn’t turn out too bad. If you squint, you can see a freighter on the horizon, barely visible in the first photo.

Lesson for today: when Mother Nature gives you something this gorgeous, your job is to behold it.
