The Opposite of Monochromatic

The Pacific Northwest has been especially gray and rainy since the beginning of October. The shorter days might be contributing to that feeling too as I start and end my days in the dark at my desk. While I like the cooler weather, it can all start to feel a little… monochromatic.

This morning, it was cloudy and foggy but not raining, so I threw on my gear and headed into the woods.

From the glowing green moss to the last of the autumn leaves, the colors stopped me in my tracks more than once. So did the four (yes, four) deer I saw. One of them even made it into a photo below.

And then, a bit of sun peeked through the clouds.

Three hours later, I was muddy, sweaty and deliriously happy. Nothing like a little forest therapy.

All pictures taken by me with an iPhone, since my Nikon is still in the shop.
