Oregon in January is … incredibly mild. For someone born and bred in the Midwest, temps in the 50s with a bit of rain will always qualify as a “fine spring day” more than “depths of winter.”

In a landscape without snow (and very little chance of dropping below freezing), Oregon winters are surprisingly colorful.
In a post-Instagram life, I wanted to create a new sort of photo diary (formerly known as Randomgrams). I don’t plan on pushing it out to subscribers, because I’m not sure how interesting they will be to anyone else. If you do stumble across one of these posts and like them, let me know in the comments below.
All pictures taken by me, with an iPhone 8 or a Nikon D3400.
As deep snow blankets the Midwest, these pictures give me hope for the life that will spring new “later”. The pictures are a respite from my shoveling.
Amen! I definitely don’t miss shoveling snow!
