In the past month, my Instagram feed was lit up with images from the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. Like the Steiner Irises later in the spring, this is a way for flower growers to sell bulbs… and for photographers to go a little nuts.
This photographer is still trying to figure out her (not so new anymore) camera, and these bright colors under full sun were a bit tricky – not to mention trying to get your horizons straight on a gently sloping piece of land. But, in the end, I’m happy with several of them. I love how the tulips became little cups for the sunlight. If you look closely, you can even see Mount Hood in one of the shots.
So, without further ado, here’s some eye candy of color, shape and springtime to brighten your day!
It goes without saying – if you find yourself in Oregon in April, get thee to Wooden Shoe.

All pictures taken by me with a Nikon D3300.
Most of them went through a Photoshop bath before posting.
The Mount Hood one is my favorite. Thanks for bring some color and beauty to my Sunday Lora?
You are very welcome!
